Etap2 Engineer with PingPong including Haas effects capabilities in series with the existing functionality was requested as (a special limited edition)
to allow for a more spacious echo presentation. At the present the
versions with PPare build002b or build002hll. The latter to
differentiate between a sollution using assembler code and high level
language HLL. The HLL version is recommended as this is to be
fully compatible across all platforms/hosts.
Please note that his version should stay in a limited distribution as
there are now too many dials now for the untrained to be controlled.
Description of controls:
- PP/FB: PingPong Feedback
- PP/TE: PingPong Ratio Echo/Ping Pong
- Pre-Delay: The delay added to the output of eTAP's main echo
- Delta: The additional delay added to the Pre-Delay
There is also a button available to fully switch-off this functionality.
Mode of operation:
- On
the mono output of eTAP the left channel is connected to a delay with
the time [pre-delay] The right channel is connected to time[pre-delay]
+ [delta]
- The PP/TE dial is to control the contribution of the
pingpong effect. When turned down to '0' this functionality is
disabled. When turned to 50% the echo packets volumes of both the tape
echo and the pingpong echo are of the same strength. When this PP/TE
dial is set fully clockwise the signal from the tape echo will only be
through [pre-delay].
- For the [pre-delay] a feedback is available under code PP/FB.
- Both the [pre-delay] and [delta] are with a small led that will be lit if you've selected a default value.
- When
used for the first time all dials are set to '0' so PP does not
function. The best approach is to firstly set the [pre-delay] and the
[delta] to the default value and gradually change the PP/TE dial to get
the room effect. Next you could use the PP/FB button to extend this
effect.
Enjoy
